Congratulations to John Swinney MSP on re-appointment as First Minister
Commenting on the re-appointment of John Swinney MSP as First Minister, Mary Glasgow, Chief Executive of Children First said:
“A huge congratulations to John Swinney on his reappointment as First Minister. We look forward to continuing to work closely with the First Minister and his new cabinet to make sure that every child in Scotland is safe, loved and able to enjoy a happy childhood.
“While strong commitments have been made to supporting children and families, too many children still feel anxious, afraid and alone. Urgent action is needed so families can access the right support at the right time. This parliamentary term is critical, with the Promise to be kept and child poverty reduced by 2030.
“We welcome the pledges made to tackle online harm, invest in Bairns Hoose and develop a national front door to family support with Children First.
“By working in partnership, we can close the gap between policy and practice and turn these commitments into lasting change for children and families across Scotland.”
