Leave a gift in your Will and give the gift of childhood.
Leave a gift in your Will and give the gift of childhood.
Right now in Scotland, too many children are growing up with fear, anxiety and uncertainty. Some feel unsafe at home. Others are struggling with online harm, exploitation or the pressure to be someone they are not. For them, childhood is no longer a place of safety and freedom.
At Children First, we see this every day. We stand alongside them to help them feel safe again and begin to hope for the future.
But we cannot do this alone.
A gift in your Will is not just a future donation. It is a promise to protect childhood, to stand alongside families and to help build a brighter future for children across Scotland.
You can make that decision today. Request your gifts in Wills guide or bookmark this page to share it with your solicitor when the time is right.
Children First works solely in Scotland, supporting children in our communities across the country. Your legacy supports Scotland’s children and it always will.
Give the gift of childhood. Their future can be your legacy.

Free Wills Month runs twice a year, in March and October offering a simple way to safeguard the future of your loved ones and if you choose, leave a meaningful gift to Children First.

How do I leave a gift in my Will?
Leaving a gift in your Will to Children First is easy. All you need to do is give your solicitor our name, address, and registered charity number.
Children First, 83 Whitehouse Loan, Edinburgh, EH9 1AT
Registered Scottish charity number: SC 016092
Every gift, big or small, makes a huge difference to children in Scotland.
What type of gift can I leave in my Will?
After making gifts to family and friends, you can leave a percentage of your estate or ‘residue’ to Children First.
You can specify a fixed sum of money to leave, known as a pecuniary gift. Ask your solicitor to make it index-linked to ensure that your gift keeps its value over the years.
You can leave a specific object such as a house, a piece of jewellery or a painting.
Every gift is transformational. Your solicitor will be able to advise which gift is best for you and provide advice if your estate is subject to inheritance tax.
