Putting children first
As Scotland’s national children’s charity, Children First will never stop fighting to protect children from harm, help them recover from abuse and give them a brighter future.
Our 2025 impact report highlights how our dedicated teams across Children First continue to protect childhood and champion children’s rights, campaigning on the issues children and young people tell us matter most.
In 2025 across Scotland, Children First supported 11,300 children and 10,000 parents and carers to have a brighter future through its local services and national support line, an 8 percent increase on 2024.
In the autumn, we proudly launched our manifesto ahead of the 2026 Scottish elections, calling on the next Scottish Government to put children first.
Calls to our national support line increased by more than 50 percent over the past year, enabling us to assist more than 6,500 people and putting £1.8 million in financial gains back in families pockets.
We have worked with close to 750 kinship care families across Scotland in 2025 and in September we were selected to provide the Kinship Care Advice Support Service on behalf of the Scottish Government.
Our Safeguarders Panel team matched 1,572 children with a Safeguarder in 2025, ensuring that the views and human rights of children and young people are reflected in decisions about their future.
